In recent years, the recurring cost of maintaining traditional coatings has forced owners to recognize the long term inefficiency of traditional marine and industrial coating systems. As a result, new structures and facilities are being designed and capitalized on a life cycle basis.

Thermal spray corrosion protection is extremely economical when considered on a life cycle basis. Thermal spray coatings provide over 30 years of corrosion protection, even in harsh marine environments.

Widespread practice of Thermal spray has been centered in Europe and Japan and is now made available to Tasch customers in the US with our purchase in 1998 of a TAFA Model 8860 high output thermal spray system. This rugged and reliable unit is capable of spraying both zinc and aluminum. Our employees have completed the TAFA training to perform work with this unit. From marine and offshore structures to industrial plant and OEM owners, Tasch has the equipment and experienced personnel to meet your need.

Chevron Oil Pipe Station
Mobile Bay

Chevron Oil knew that future maintenance of this pipe station would be impossible once it was installed, so they specified a 20 mil coating of thermally sprayed aluminum. The local contractor chose Tasch rather than barging the project to the next closest TSA provider in Houston, TX.

Tasch's application of the thermal spray aluminum was completed on schedule and in accordance with the demanding Chevron specifications. After the proper installation and exhaustive inspection of the system, Chevron has concluded maintenance will not be needed and the corrosion protection of the TSA will last the entire useful life of the station.
